Among the ruins of once mighty Hittite citadels a tribe of cyclops have made their home. Famous for their strength, they were often the target of heroes and adventurers wanting to make their name known. Very few returned alive as cyclops were cunning and knew every passage in the mountainous region, making them excellent at surprising any intruder into their land.
Blessed Battle Virgin Mary task was simple - to best a cyclops in single combat and bring proof of her deed. She has heard that tribe was numerous and very protective of it’s members. If a single cyclops was attacked, others were bound to rush to help him or her. Strong as she was, Mary had no intention to make a massacre, let alone fight an enraged mob of colossal enemies. On top of it, a sneak attack would be hard since she would be noticed even before finding an enemy.
Therefore, Battle Virgin simply walked on the most open road through the cyclops lands, completely carefree. It did not take long time before a guard stopped her, inquiring about her business. Mary simply replied that she has come to the see if the tales of strength of cyclops were true or not, boasting she could win against the strongest of them with one hand. Laughing, the guard took her to the tribe, saying that the chief would be glad to put her in proper place. When they have arrived in the cyclops village, guard introduced Mary and her request to the chief. He also laughed, saying he would gladly face her, but that there must be no fight to the death, as the tribe has seen too much of it lately. They settled on armwrestling.
In the village center, Mary and chief have locked hands on a large rock and the match was on. They both started pulling hands in the opposite directions, chief giving it all he got. After a while, he realized Mary’s arm wasn’t budging at all. When he looked at her face her realized she showed no sign of strain, only a very confident smile. Then Mary applied force, her biceps almost exploding out of her sleeve. In a moment, the cyclops chief was down, along with the rock they arm wrestled on. As a sign of her victory, the cyclops beat their drums for days, letting all know of her mighty deed.
